Watergate Restaurant and Lounge Bar

Watergate Restaurant and Lounge Bar is located in the heart of Port Douglas yet hidden away like a secret treasure from the passers by. Of an evening look for a bamboo flare lit path at the corner of Grant and Macrossan Street. Wander down the path and you will find the perfect place for dinner, tapas or a mouth-watering cocktail.

Watergate Restaurant and Lounge Bar, as the name suggests- is a pleasant combination of a stylish restaurant and an intimate lounge bar. The restaurant offers a combination of indoor and outdoor dining decks. The ambience at Watergate is muted and pleasantly neutral, with warm natural colours and a very relaxed feel.

The cuisine at Watergate is Modern Australian and encapsulates the modern tropical lifestyle. The Executive Chef Lee Neate sources seasonal and regional produce to prepare innovative and enticing dishes.

At Watergate you can expect to see fresh seafood straight off the local fishing boats right through to the Atherton Tableland’s best fruit and vegetables.  The chefs at Watergate take full advantage of the abundance of locally grown herbs as well as a wide selection of regionally sourced artisan cheeses.

The well appointed Lounge Bar at Watergate  features an impressive Jarrah wood bar and is a comfortable area in which to relax with a pre-dinner Cocktail. The Lounge Bar is also a great space to retire to at the end of your meal. Comfortable armchairs and low slung coffee tables make it very easy to relax at Watergate Restaurant and Lounge Bar.

The lounge menu at Watergate Restaurant and Lounge Bar, as well as desserts and cheese platters, are served all day until late.

Watergate Restaurant and Lounge Bar is open for lunch from midday and with dinner served from 5:30pm daily.
